Sunday Race Club

Welcome to the newly revamped Sunday Race Club (SRC), now much Bigger, Better and Broader. MyWhoosh is thrilled to unveil significant changes designed to make SRC more inclusive, competitive, and engaging for all riders, from beginners to advanced cyclists.

Whether you’re looking for exciting competition or just want to challenge yourself, SRC will offer a fresh, dynamic racing experience.

As before, all categories have separate start times and are identified by different jerseys. Most SRCs start at a frantic pace before settling into hard racing against riders in your category.

Event Specifics

  • Dates:
    Every Sunday in a month where the last Sunday will be the Finals.
  • Format:
    Weekly races with revamped categories and dynamic routes
  • Participants:
    Open to all levels of riders – from beginners to advanced

The revamped SRC now includes Category 5 and 6, ensuring closer competition by narrowing skill gaps within each group. These categories offer a more balanced experience and match riders of similar abilities, allowing for more engaging and enjoyable races.

Revamped Prize Distribution

  • Prizes extended to the Top 10 riders in each category (up from previously Top 5).
  • Additional rewards for the Top 7 teams in finals, encouraging teamwork and collaboration.
  • Sprint and King/Queen of the Mountain (KOM) prizes introduced for both weekly segments and overall leaders.

MyWhoosh Classics

MyWhoosh Classics series is designed to give Cycling esports riders the opportunity to race dynamic new points race format across multiple MyWhoosh worlds and routes.

Events will be held on Wednesdays at multiple time slots to cater for different timezones.

MyWhoosh Classics are open to all riders, allowing elite and community racers to jump right in and compete side by side.

Event Details

  • Days: Thursdays

Timings:

  • Race 1 - 2:30pm GST
  • Race 2 - 10:30pm GST
  • Race 3 - 2.00am GST (next day)

Points System

Points are awarded to the top 50 riders, with the first rider earning 50 points and the 50th rider earning 1 point. This distribution applies to all laps except the final lap, where points are doubled. In the last lap, the first rider will receive 100 points, and the 50th rider will receive 2 points.

Routes

The events will take place across various MyWhoosh routes.

Elimination Races

Elimination Racing is an intense and tactical event designed to test both power and strategy. Riders must stay ahead of the pack to avoid elimination at key checkpoints throughout the race. The pace is relentless, and only the smartest, strongest, and fastest will survive to battle it out for the win at the final sprint.

    • Monday – 10:00 PM GST: Riders with an FTP above 3 W/kg
    • Monday – 10:05 PM GST: Riders with an FTP below 3 W/kg
    • Tuesday – 03:00 AM GST: Riders with an FTP above 3 W/kg
    • Tuesday – 03:05 AM GST: Riders with an FTP below 3 W/kg

Race Rules & Format

  1. Elimination Checkpoints: All laps and lap banners will be elimination points.
  2. Survival Strategy: Staying out of the elimination zone is key. Riders must manage their effort to stay in the pack while avoiding the back of the group, where the risk of elimination is highest.
  3. Final Sprint: Once the eliminations are complete, the remaining riders will sprint to the finish line. The winner is determined by the first rider across the finish, making the final moments of the race both tactical and explosive.

Who Can Participate?

This event is open to all MyWhoosh users who meet the following FTP categories:

  • Above 3 W/kg FTP: Suitable for experienced and competitive riders looking for a challenging race format.
  • Below 3 W/kg FTP: Designed for intermediate riders seeking a fun and engaging race experience.

Participants must ensure they join the correct race category based on their FTP to maintain fair competition.

Crit Racing

Crit Racing (Criterium Racing) is all about speed, agility, and quick thinking. This race format offers short but intense laps on fast circuits, testing your ability to navigate tight corners, respond to attacks, and maintain high speeds.

Race at High Speed: In Crit Racing, every second counts. The fast, flat circuits mean high speeds and constant action, where riders must be alert and ready for rapid changes in race dynamics.

Master the Art of Cornering: Sharp corners are a hallmark of crit races. How you handle these can make or break your performance. Will you take the perfect line and maintain your speed through the turns?

Explosive Sprints: With short laps and frequent changes in pace, crit racing offers plenty of opportunities for explosive attacks and sprints. Can you hold your nerve in a breakaway, or will you save your energy for a thrilling sprint finish?
